appreciation

I was doing some groceries today and was happy to find out that they're selling canned tuna with the MSC label. Now, I do not want to justify any animal consumption nor would I like to state that canned tuna is a sustainable product, but it's a step in the right direction.

I am grateful that I can buy organic cotton Timberland jeans.

And I am grateful that I can buy a large range of organic home brand products from the local supermarket. A few years ago that wasn't possible. Companies are putting effort into this. Years ago, when I was fighting the system, I could not imagine companies to actually start implementing social and environmental business practices. Fact is, they do. And I find that very uplifting.

monkeys in the mist



We spent easter on the countryside. That was wonderful. Being away from the every-day madness of the city. Absorbing the warmth of wood fire.

The mist softened sounds in the silence.

There has been quite some frustration in me the last few weeks, but during the weekend it dissolved.

The forest around the house has been thinned. With the snow still covering the ground and the lake, BV was a light house.

Frustration only has one remedy: cutting wood.
