a new earth

In previous posts i've been talking about my hard time dealing with the madness of the world. [Don't we all struggle with the madness of the world?] Yesterday evening i was listening to the A New Earth audio book by ET. And then i had this feeling of relief. He talked about the madness of the world, of all the destruction and pain caused by our collective human ego. And to me that was an insight, a kind of confirmation. Ok, this world is mad. Now i can accept that and let go of the frustration. You don't have to do anything with that you observe. It is how it is.

On ascension day/night we had our annual employee party. We took the ferry to Tallin on Wednesday and stayed over night in a spa hotel. And that was just very nice. We swam, went to sauna and had a cocktail in the jacuzzi-bar. We went out for dinner in a '''''medieval' restaurant, chatted in some jazz club, danced in a foute discotheque, enjoyed the soul of the old town Tallinn, stuffed ourselves with unlimited amounts of food on the way back, . . . I very much enjoyed the company of my colleagues. All those different and wonderful personalities.

When we installed ourselves in our room I said "Wow, a naked chick over our heads". And then my roomy said that he thought it was a man. That people can be so different in their perception.

But then again I [ think I ] see naked chicks everywhere. : )

Last Sunday I roamed the forest, grilled a makkara, and found a sleeping princess in a little hut. Magical!

ooni

Our beloved companion has deceased. And that's hard. I loved that dog as my own. She was the personification of innocence. She always kept her cool, but food made her crazy. She was small. She was a happy doggy. She looked like a puppy when her hair was newly cut. She was a little bit naive. She had a culinary interest for human feces. She snored on her pillow. Or when sunbathing. She sniffed around the garden. She loved snow. Was always happy to go out when it had snowed. She had this weird shiver when she couldn't make sense of something. She would stare at the floor and then shiver. We explored the forest, me and her. We sat around campfires, me and her. ...

q-day|vappen

Yep, Queensday was of course the most fucked-up ever. We have been waiting for our queen to come to Apeltown for a long time. I remember that i used to wonder as a kid when she would come to our town. And then my dad would say that the chance was very small because there are so many other places she could visit. It made me sad that i couldn't be there. ...and then this tragedy occurs. Just sad.
I followed the news on internet. There was an interview with the husband of one of the victims on an internet tv-channel. He didn't have a grudge against the attacker at all. He is also a human being. ...is what he said. That was so beautiful. So unexpected and beautiful. That there exist people with such compassion.

Also had missed Q-day at the embassy. Was the night before....

But then there's Vappu. A bit of the same. People out on the streets. Drinking and stuff. Less orange, more white hats. And picnicking. So, that's what we did. Crowd-picnicking and free ice-cream.

Aight.

Apeltown forever! Oranje forever!
